Default 1995 Accord EX acceleration lag at take-off

Background....
1995 Accord EX F22b1 engine AUTOMATIC.
Friend was driving and it overheated, blew the headgasket, the works.
Cylinder head was replaced with refurbished one since it was slightly warped, valve lash done, new timing belt (of course), new seals on just about everything ( headgasket kit that included all cylinder head seals, crank seal, etc) new plugs, new wires, new ECT ( probably the culprit of this entire ordeal), new dizzy, new coolant lines..... you get the picture- just about everything replaced. Installed the timing belt keeping TDC in mind the entire time and started her up- sounded great. Tightened the throttle cable, AT cable, set timing, idle speed, etc, and took her out for a spin. Noticed a SERIOUS lack of power when starting off up untill about 3k rpm- thats when it launched just great. Checked timing again, fluid levels, even did a complete EGR cleaning and checked the EGR valve. Help me please!!!!! The only fluid not changed was the AT fluid which is a missed step that keeps nagging me in the back of my mind.

I would recheck the cam timing, timing belt, ignition timing, and that the belt tensioneer is staying tight. If you manually shift the trans to 1st does the car act any differentially?

Thanks for the reply. Tried starting off in 1st already, but same results- gonna recheck the cam later today. Afterwards I plan on checking the TPS, but I seriously doubt its an issue since Ive dealt with bad ones after doing an H23 intake upgrade on my previous cb7.

Did you set the ignition timing to the RED or WHITE mark on the crank pulley?
If white the ignition timing is retarded, needs to be on the RED mark.
Why was the distributor replaced?

Correction- the distributor cap was replaced (wasnt my call). I'll recheck the timing marks- the crank pulley was left off the car for awhile and it developed a sweet coat of rust which kinda covered those lines. Thanks!

Do a compression test to verify that the cylinders are in good shape.

The plugs are the correct NGK ones- already know that Bosch are crap. Checked the cam TDC marks & the cranks- also correct. Cylinder heads also passed inspection. Cleaned off the crank pulley to get a better view of the timing marks and am going to recheck the timing today again- got too late to do it last night.

And of course be sure you are checking the timing with the service connector "jumped".

Passenger side, blue connector, you can tell its jumped because the check engine light stays on when it was previously off- yep

Update- somehow managed to drop a bolt into the lower timing belt cover and didnt notice it. Started it up and heard an unfamiliar squealing noise, so I immediately shut it down. After close inspection I saw the bolt sticking out of the lower cover, and after even closer inspection I realized that I now need to get another timing belt since this one is totally FUBAR'd. Can't take the risk of snapping another T-belt- did that to my Prelude and had to rebuild the entire head. FML
