Default new to honda/ trans question

I recently acquired a 92 Accord DX. It's in fair shape and has suffered from neglect but nothing has been butchered.

I've been able to find most of the info I've needed for the brakes,FI system and other misc. info but haven't found much on the auto transmission in it.

This one is leaking like a sieve from the solenoid plate area. At least this is the first major one that I've found. My question is: does this plate just come off with out anything going flying and is it a gasket/o-ring that could be leaking there? Or could some one direct me to a good service link for this unit?

Thanks for any info

How about both?

#6 and 8 are 'o-ring' gaskets.

Click on the 'techauto' link in my sig for further Honda technical bits, including AT diagnostics.

great links. Ive had the time to roll thru them and I'm getting great info. The one thing that I haven't figured out yet is the difference between the KL4AT and the KA4AT.

KL is California emissions standards, KA is the rest of the sane United states.
