Icon7 B16a turbo vs b18c1 turbo

So a b18c1 turbo will cost more and have more power then a b16 turbo. But with the same size turbo how big of a difference would there be in power and how much more would the b18 cost? Trying to plan an engine swap in my 99 dx hatchback DD thanks!

Wherever in the world did you get that idea? It will cost the same regardless. Torque in the lower rpm range (depending upon turbo used) will be the difference between the two. THAT'S IT. You're paying the same money.

Ihad heard that a b18 was more expensive to buy because it was harder to get ahold of one.

No. that depends upon what part of the country you're in, but its negligible. Its only because of higher demand. but the amounts are not that different.

Lol. This thread is so retarded I had to chip in.

There's no replacement for displacement!

B16 Less torque, people will think you're a bitch for having a 1.6l, more rpm, peakyier

B18C Better block webbing, more torque, less RPM, on the of the best B blocks aside from the ITR which not really worth it for that small step up. (Supply and demand)

In reality, these are all generalizations, and the actual behavior of the engine is dependant on many many things you obviously aren't aware of making you sound quite silly!

Read.

What is this nonsense? I feel like I'm sitting in a room with my niece and her best friend screaming at each other about Team Jacob vs. Team Edward from one of those "Twilight" movies

Wrap it up girls, OP needs to do his own investigations and make a decision.

If you plan on daily driving this thing then I suggest you get a GSR trans, either engine will be alright though.
