Girlfriends 89 Civic DX STOLEN TODAY - Coon Rapids MN
Today my girlfriends 89 Civic hatch was stolen today in front of the Micheals Arts and Crafts store in Coon Rapids MN 55433. The car is not pretty, nor fast, nor anything remarkable. But it is my girlfriends ride to college that she is starting in three weeks. She saved for an entire year working her buns off at McDonalds to pay for it, help a girl (and a mad boyfriend) find this thing! I know I have some friends in Minnesota on here who may have a slight chance of spotting it. There is honestly nothing fancy about the car MINUS the head unit which is a cheap outdated pioneer system with factory speakers. Thanks guys.. Reward for any information.

Honestly ran on three cylinders, best guess was a broken valve or a cracked ring. She probably would have driven it till it blew up and then junked it. The windshield was cracked, every panel had rust on it, the interior had rips, etc. They ditched an SE Integra that was hot for this! I just don't understand, I'm hoping we find it with minimal damage. I installed a fuel and ignition cut switch in my Accord today and I will more than likely be fixing whatever is wrong with my factory security system too.

Still nothing, I've honestly been on CL for about the last hour looking for anything. Parts, the stereo, speakers, bumpers, hood, etc.. Anything worth posting. ******* people, I hate the useless scum on this planet.
You are probably getting most of that car back.
There really isn't anything on it that I could imagine a thief wanting the entire car for.

We've been doing exactly that. lol
Just bought her a 94 Accord LX CD5 to replace the old blue bomber that was her Civic. Trust me guys, this one is going to be pretty crook proof. lol Still hoping to find the EF, although I doubt we ever will :/ The Accord is in general better shape, shifts better, runs better, and is faster. But still, damn bastards.
That is horrible man. I couldnt even imagine. hopefully the more people that are aware of it being stolen will find it? it is a pretty unique car. good luck man
Damn. Can't have nothin' nice. People are often surprised when I tell them how much Hondas are stolen, this one surprised me.

put security in EVERYTHING someone probably saw it and figured no one would look for it, it was probably chopped up and sold for scrap metal, no one checks a car in pieces on a trailer, especially a rusty one, it's been happening more and more, the scrap yards are only required to check vin numbers on entire cars, nice loophole right?

Like I said, the thieves have wised up to this, they cut them into scrap, and bring them in on a trailer as scrap steel not a car, they hit older rusty cars because no one looks twice at one on a trailer, try an experiment, call a bunch of yards, tell themm you have an old rusted car you are going to cut up, but you lost your paperwork, most likly they will say bring it in
So this is probably the last time I will update this thread. Still no word on the Civic even after contacting scrap yards and hours upon hours of craigslist searching. Damn people.. The new Accord is now thoroughly equipped with security measures that will hopefully scare off any desperate ignorant ******* that bats an eye at it. I'm still hoping to get that call someday, but I doubt it. Still a great wake-up call, although a terrible one. Thanks for everyone keeping an eye out and keeping the community aware of thievery!
