Default Your Opinions..

No hating just asking for you guys' opinion and ideas

my mom crashed her 92 accord and the front passenger side is like this

now as far as i know the obvious replacements are passenger tires for the rim (it wasnt bent just got a flat), front bumper, passenger fender, the hood, passenger headlight and turn signal, and the cover that goes underneath the front of the car, possibly an alignment

the car is starting and running fine. chasis seems straight, no check engine light on, no radiator leak and the only thing that moved in the engine bay was the battery (got nudged into the engine bay more)

now i took it to a body shop and they wanted 10k to fix it (EFF THAT)

car has 145xxx miles on it. now, can someone point me to a reputable dealer or website that has stock parts (besides honda), the junkyard i would say is already a no go because of how common this car is i probably would not find anything at all. or a shop in the 562 area that wouldnt charge me as much

im thinking of just selling the car to just get it over with too

from the pictures it looks like the sub-structure behind the headlight is damaged. I'm guessing even for a body guy with all of the right tools that would be tough to get back straight again. if you get hood, fender, bumper and headlight it may look mostly ok but the headlight won't fit right with its mount points all crumpled.

If i were in this situation i would at least disassemble some stuff to get a good look at the damage underneath. if it looks like the damaged area can be easily cut out and replaced with parts from the scraper, and you feel up to the job of getting the replacement welded in straight... go for it.

I've heard of other sites and retailers that carry the parts you need, but i only have first hand experience with Rockauto. you should be able to find all of the bolt on peices there.

though i would still check the junk yard. these cars are still very popular where i live, but they are at that stage where only a select few are willing to make expensive repairs, especially after crash damage so the yard is packed with them. I'm certain there are more of that one body-style at the local pull-a-part than any other import.

The hood, fender, headlight, headlight bucket, bumper, etc etc are all easily removed and replaced.
Your main challenge is to find the inner structure from about center of the front wheel forward corner and from the corner to the core support. You will note that there are several panels that are spot welded together that can be cut out with a spot weld drill bit. You will need to finesse a new upper wheel arch where the fender mounts to.

If you can snag the parts for cheap from Pick-N-Pull and get most of the grunt work out of the way, a shop may be willing to cut you a deal on labor costs if you bring them the structural bits and remove the damaged parts (hood/fender bumper) yourself. Ask around if anyone does side work from a few shops.

Yep I decided to take off some parts,I actually drove it around without the whole front bumper, and it does look like the headlight will be a problem because the frame is bent. I have no experience sadly, with welding
The best I have done is hammering parts straight. I went to a local ecology junkyard and found some turn signals and a fender. I will check out rockauto. Thanks

Might be able to get # 13; 10; 2 from a yard car. With those fixed the rest is Lego and paint.
