Default Not idling engine code 9

I got 90 CRX with B18 ls swap. I finally got the car started. It idled high for a while smoked a lot then idle started to come down. After a while the car died. I can keep the car running by giving it gas. Engine code #9 (#1 cylinder sensor or something most likely the dizzy). Could this be causing the car to die. Also can I try to take the cap and rotor off and clean them, will that might help of waste of time.

please advise.

Try a new distributor as you already knew before asking this question.
It's not cap nor rotor.
It's a sensor in the distributor that throws the code.

Do you think dizzy is the cause of my car not idling right.

Do you have a dx model crx?

If so, are you 100% sure you have all the wiring correct for the dpfi to mpfi conversion?

If my wiring was not correct, then may car would not start or run very crappy, The car is starting and running smooth just idling very low now. like at 500rpms.

I have cleaned the IACV and Fast idle control valve, blasted the dizzy with carb cleaner type of cleaner. Now its idling at about 500RPMs, but code 9 is still flashing on the ECU.

Another thing car is sputtering and back firing a little on idle. I can notice it but its not much. Could this be bad gas or something like that.

That's great that you keep cleaning things out.
That code 9 isn't going away until you fix your distributor issue.
Try a new distributor.

The car will run just fine with a code 9.

Have you tried adjusting your idle air screw on the top of your throttle body?

Okay I got a brand new dizzy and even tried a different ECU, I am still getting code 9.

Just curious could it be my timing because I test drove my car and it is back firing.

I am guessing timing because my engine got locked up and too free it I used PB blast and I did not know you were only suppose to turn you engine counter clock wise. I turned it both ways clock wise and counter clock wise a lot after it broke free.

Please help, I have appointment with the referee next week.

Also, I have a intake mani from a automatic, but car it fine, but I heard referee would call that out. Is that trues.
