Default CRX auto to manual wiring

OK I will just start from the top....I have a 1991 CRX DX with an auto trans. I also have a wrecked 1991 CRX Si. OK I want to do two things I want to first make my DX a manual and second I want to put the Si motor and trans in it. I have heard quite a few different answers regarding this so maybe some of you guys would be able to help me out. OK I know that to convert it to a manual I will need the obvious like the manual trans, the shift cable, the pedals from the manual car. But what I need to know is how to wire it all up? I know that I need 4 additional wires from the engine going to the ECU, like the 2 wires for the injectors and also the 2 wires for the cylinder sensor in the distributor. But are there a bunch of different wires for the auto trans compared to the manual trans? I have also heard that I am going to have to change the ignition too? Now is that true? Please any and all of the help would be greatly appreciated!!!

i dont think you need to change the ignition if you have the whole si engine.. and the only wires needed for the manual trans would be for the reverse lights and to jump the park/neutral switch so you can start the car.

if you have both cars to work with, i think the best move you can make is to entirely strip the DX, and put in everything applicable from the SI. wiring harness, dash, all electronics, pedal set, everything. i would rather have a correct SI setup as opposed to a MPFI swapped harness and some auto to manual rewiring. make sure to convert the entire suspension from the SI on as well. all wheel disc brakes owns! take it from someone who did it, and loves it. no more drums! yay!

PS. i have rear drum trailing arms laying around if anyone wants them.

I was going to do the complete swap like both the chassis and the engine harnesses, the dash, the brakes, and everything else, but once I started taking apart the Si I had realized how much of a pain that it was and decided just to do the engine harness swap so that I didnt need to take the dash out of the DX.....Oh and I would have swapped the dashes but the dash in my DX is in better shape. As for all the suspension the car was hit hard on the passenger side front and it pretty much tweaked averything...I was actually surprised on the extent of the damage that there wasnt motor damage!!! The whole passenger side was pushed in a good 6 inches it even cracked off 2 of the tabs that hold down the ECU!! Thats how far the floor came in. I couldnt even get the windshield wiper motor out without snapping off the bottom holder......Oh and I already have the rear disc off and ready to put on just waiting for my complete crossed drilled rotors and new pads to come in.....And another thing that was mashed in was like the heater core and other things under the dash there. OK as for wiring in the reverse lights anyone know what wires that they may be? Oh and talking about parts I pretty much have the complete intereior with the exception of the seats and door panels (Those Im keepin ) Well thanks to everyone that has helped me out so far!!

you also need to move the rear tranny mount, (the rubber part, that mounts to the body) shift it couple inches towards the passenger side. you'll see another set of holes there to bolt it in. the mpfi wiring change on the ecu was exactly same as my other 5-speed mpfi wiring change. you also need to drill a bigger hole for where the clutch cable feeds in to the car from outside. make sure the metal part of the clutch cable goes in all the way, or the cable will run on the body of the car and eventually snap off while driving. and also, the accelerator pedal assembly is slightly different shaped. It's not really that bad.

Anyone know what wires I need for the reverse lights? I posted this in my last one but its kind of hidden so just wanted to make sure it could be answered
Hey Rae do you know how much bigger the hole needs to be for the clutch cable?
And can I use the rear tranny mount from the auto or should it be from the manual?
so there is only 4 wires that need to be added right? 2 for the injectors and 2 for the sensor in the distr?
And one other thing you said that the pedal are a little bit different so do they mount different then?

ok here goes: all the tranny mopnuts have to be from a the manual.(have fun with the rear one) the wiring for the auto to manual is easy dont know about dpfi to mpfi. You only have to hook up two wires together to make the car think its in park 24/7. And i didnt even worry bout hookin up my reverse lights. any other ?'s just pm me.

by where the autoshifter was before, theres three plugs, theres two black/white wires, thats for the switch on the shifter that would let the car start but only if its in park, so cut both of those and splice them together..

as for the reverse lights, i believe its the green/black and yellow wires in the same spot but a different plug than the black/white ones.. and you have to run wires from that to the two wire/plugs that come out of your manual transmission.. should be somewhere around where the clutch cable hooks up..

hope that helps

oh and as far as dpfi to mpfi checkout hybrid.honda-perf.org... if you have any questions i've done it too many times not to know the answer.. hit me up on aim my sn is 'gettruent'

Wow umm yeah well thanks for the help even though this was like 6 months ago. I had decided to do a complete harness swap so I dont have to worry about wires anymore and plus I didnt want to have more spliced wires if I decided to go with a swap in the future.
