RPM Jumping randomly
Was driving home from work and its about 40 degrees here in toronto with humidity and sometimes when coming to a stop sign or red light i put it in neutral and the car stays at 2000rpm for about four or five seconds before it drops down to 700rpm what could be cauaing this? IIm running a b16a2 in a 93 eg coupe
No codes thrown, cleaned fitv during the iacv cleaning, bled the system
No i didnt adjust idle speed its staying at 750-800 range. Ahhh alright i will adjust the throttle cable i recently tightenes it a bit a didnt know it needed slack i though the throttle cable maybe got worn over time so i tightened it

At the point in the cable indicated in the diagram, you should be able deflect/move the cable 3/8" to 1/2" from center. In other words, there should be 3/8" to 1/2" of free play in the cable - cable movement that would not open the throttle plate.
Throttle plate was binding ended up being the culprit. I guess the hot weather made the gunk in the throttle body sticky so i cleaned it out as far in as i could reach. Works fine now, no jumping rpm.
