Everything you're thinking about is a waste of money. These aren't big block V-8s that respond to these kinds of mods with gobs of power. Boost it.

BTW the 99 SI came with a gutless B16 so it isn't a swap.

But you have the money to rebuild the engine and add expensive add-ons that give you next to no increase in power?
Contradict much?

Whatever. If you're not going to boost it then leave it alone. Rebuild it to OEM specs and walk away because I highly doubt that you're going to have the cash to tune your cammed up engine to the cost of about $1,000 (EMS & dyno) on top of the parts you're planning on slapping in.

Yeah, but HP/$ ratio speaking, your N/A plans are pretty much choking your wallet and your car's power output. Best thing to do is to just either rebuild it for low compression and boost, or just rebuild it then boost it as a stock motor with a limited HP range before you blow something. and most importantly tune.

if you're really set on the N/A thing you got going on... which I personally don't feel comfortable for but to each his own.
Then go for it, try it out, read up on it but the satisfaction won't be so well.

Remember, they're 4 cylinders, not high performance like Evo's or STI's 4 cylinders but.... more economical.

Those cams will set you back $600, the valve train kit will set you back another what, $400? and the port & polish for the head + intake manifold will be lets say... $1000?
That sets you back already $2,000.
What can you do with $2,000? Get most materials for a turbo kit, that's what you can do and boost up to what....250+?
If you stuck with the N/A idea.... ehhh 145-180 after a quick search on Google of B16 N/A Dyno numbers.

I see.. well boostin I would have to change out alot of stuff right?? Like fuel rail..bigger exhaust...bigger injectors..ecu? And could I buy a complete turbo kit with everything I need to do it?

If you're interested in turbocharing your engine there's MANY threads covered. Honestly, the best thing I find about Honda's, especially 96-00 Civic's is that ALMOST EVERYTHING has been attempted. People have been through trial and error with many ideas in Civic's and solved virtually any problem. If there's something you wanna know about it, it's just a quick search away. You'll have WAY more answers if you Google stuff like "B-Series/B16 turbo build/parts list/FAQ" it takes less effort than asking and less time to wait for an answer in your own thread.

Yeah you'll need to change out things, but in the end is it worth it?
Do you want power out of your Civic?
Do you want to get the most power with the least amount of cash?
Are you willing to do the work?
Remember, you can only choose 3: Cheap/Fast/Reliable
Going the N/A route and hoping for anywhere near 200hp isn't at all cheap.

Essentially, from the top of my head based off my research, you'll need:
Turbocharger itself
Turbo manifold+larger exhaust custom or not. (2.5-3.0in)
Oil lines & hardware
Intercooler & piping
tuneable ECU
Wideband O2
550cc+ Injectors
255lph Fuel Pump (Walbro)

Fuel rail can be kept stock from what I've read.

Here's from the FAQ:

Agreed.. save your money and boost it.. versus adding a part here and there incrementally and only adding a small bit of power.. once you have enough for the turbo kit.. you will gain a ton of power!! =]

How is it a waste? He is most likely gonna need a new ecu if he wants to boost anyways.

Because without boost, a proper tune on an ECU will cost him $600+, and will get him all of 5WHP. Worth it when boosting, complete waste of money otherwise.

You should have done this in the first place. If 90% of forum members did this, there would be less of a clutter of REPETITIVE threads.

for n/a, a chipped computer with a proper dyno tune, big intake mani, bigger injectors, golden eagle intake manifold gasket, velocity stack, and a gsr cam or type r cam and youll be jamming.

it doesnt cost that much to urbo your car..
buy an obd2b to obd1 ecu jumper $50 bucks
get a chipped obd1 ecu $100-$150
buy the $590 dollar cxracing turbo kit that is a/c compatible and comes with everything

buy 400+cc injectors you can get dsm 450cc injectors for like $70 bucks all day and those will get you to 300hp before they are maxed out

the only hing that doesnt last is the turbo cxracing includes in there kit, my friends cxracing turbo lasted 4 months... but the only thing there turboes do that ive seen when they go bad is smoke alot, they dont explode...and in the four months that is lasts you can save up for a garrett turbo, turbonetics, or a pte turbo.

you dont even have to get bigger injectors if you want less then 200whp......

Yeah get a CX racing turbo kit that was you will blow your motor right up when the wastegate fails or the turbo comes apart. Piece a turbo kit together get a Garrett turbo, Tial WG, a good BOV, you can use Ebay for the intercooler and pipe as well as a turbo mani and down pipe, larger injectors and tuneable ECU. IF done right you can get 300whp on the stock motor and spend about $2000. If you just want a little more power out of the B16 get a set of ITR cams, S2 Tuner 1 cams or GSC N1 cams, valve springs are a must, a good header and have it tuned. Should bump the power up a good bit 160-170whp is with in reach.
