Ordered a new exedy clutch. Just wondering if the alignment tool is a must have component. I ordered just the disk, since the slipping clutch I have in there now is less than 500 miles old. Also got plugs, wires, o2, cap, rotor, air filter, rear main seal kit, etc..

 

Yes, the alignment tool is a must.

If a clutch is already slipping after 500 miles, you didn't break it in properly.

 

No it wasn't an improper break in, well yeah I guess kinda.. my dumbass didn't replace the extremely trashed rear main that was leaking all over the new clutch.

 

I'm pretty sure the kit should come with one, where did you order it from?

 

So, now that your main question is answered, before you go buying a clutch alignment tool online and paying for shipping on top of a probably inflated price, check with your local parts stores. I know my local Advanced carries them. Yours might too.
