Default stripped timing belt tensioner bolt.help!!

So I got out up an early today to work on my car and make it run after weeks of it being abandoned due to I not starting. So I realized it was off timing.
I ended up set to do the timing adjustment and come to realize my tensioner bolt is stripped.the engine is in the car still.
And Its cramped and I can't get that f***er out .. its stripped bad so I was wondering how have you guys felt with this and any advice how I can do this! I need this car to run asap!

There are sockets that are specially designed to get off stripped bolts. I bought a kit called Lock-tite. It came with various sizes of sockets. It work great on removing stripped bolts. I would give that a shot first. You most like will use those sockets again one day.

It is actually called grip tite. This is the place I bought mine from. If you live in Canada you will have a Canadian tire.

Good luck that is why you always use a 6 point socket for that 14mm bolt...
I made that mistake once, Had to take a grinder to it ( while in the car )
it was a Bi^#H!
I tried one of those grip right or even a craftsman easy out thing... ( its a socket you hammer on and it can lock onto stripped bolts.
Tried a chizzle to try to get it to spin once... nope.
I couldn't get a swing on it to get it out..

Only other answer is to pull the motor and maybe get it that way, or cut it :D

I'd say cut it. it was easy and you have to buy a new tensioner anyway so don't worry about it
good luck

no there should only be 4 bolts.. .two by the top and two by the bottom? Don't qoute me on that haha. BTW I think you do have to pull the crank pulley to pull the lower case.
Just grind the tensioner off man, its super easy.

the tensioner or the bolt ?? I got frustrated and cut my cover apart. tomorrow I'll try some grip pliers then maybe either sand down alittle and try to fit a 13mm.
