alarm controlled keyless entry - can i just use standard relays
i just picked up some lock actuators and 4 door rear handles (keyless)
my alarm (ungo) had door lock outputs
im just wondering if it will work just using standard (probably bosch) relays or if i need to order the ungo relays
im thinking the alarm output (-12v i think) will just be on for half a second while the alarm arms/disarms which may not be enough time for the lock actuators to fully open/close. do the alarm company brand relays have a time delay in them to work around this or anything else special or are they just standard relays?

your alarm may have a longer pulse duration door lock output option...check this in the manual.

even though it might work without using relays, the proper way would be to use them. standard bosch relay will be fine. the half second pulse will be plenty of time to flip the accuators with using the relays. goodluck on the install.
It doesn't matter what relays you use brand wise, just make sure you use them. The DEI 451M is nice as it is two relays in one box and will control all the doors for you. Should run you about $25. You won't have any problems with the output duration, just make sure your alarm has negative outputs if you use the 451M.
Now in order for these to work you need to set up a reversing polarity relay setup. You will need two relays.
both 87a pins = ground
both 87 = +12v fused
both 86 = +12v fused
pin 85 on one relay connect to the green - lock output of your alarm
pin 85 on the other connect to the blue - unlock output of the alarm
Now wire both actuators in parellel (be sure polarity is correct for both) and wire one side to pin 30 of one relay and the other side to pin 30 of the other relay. Test to make sure you have polarity correct before you actually make a permenant connection.
