Default Exhaust removal... need help

I have an exhaust leak and I am attempting to remove the front pipe connected to the headers but my under side is caked in dried up mud bc the guy that owned it before me ran it through mud... but I sprayed WD40 on the bolts and used a rachet and a hammer and the barely budged... does anybody know an easier way of removing the bolts without breaking them?

Grease it and give it a go. Knuckle busting is fun!

Go to your local auto parts store and get some PB Blaster. It will be sitting right next to the WD-40 on the shelf LOL. Spray (SOAK!) the hardware you want to remove and let it sit for a couple of hours and then try to remove. PB Blaster is the best penetrating lubricant and will most likely un-seize those bolts.

Forget that WD-40 and PB blaster stuff, put a torch to the nut! Heat it up and it will come off, just don't burn yourself or catch anything on fire.

I had to cut them off of my 1990. I tried all of the sprays to no avail. Mine were rusted, covered in mud, and stripped by one of the previous owners. In order to take off the exhaust manifold to finally cut them off, I waited till I had to remove the head again.

My friend, a mechanic, had tried some kind of bolt remover specifically for bolts that had been stripped (something from Snap-On). It did not work for this application, but it did for other bolts. If you can't do anything else, take it to someone to take the thing off. Ideally, they will charge you ten dollars, spend 2 minutes, and all to do something that you couldn't do in two hours.

Good luck.

I used the PB Blaster, let it sit for like 5 - 7 minutes, then tapped on my rachet with a hammer and the mud broke loose. I'm trying to remove the exhaust system from the headers bc the leak is a very small hole at the front of the pipe causing a leak... I am going to drop the whole system tomorrow evening and get my GReddy Evo II muffler and front of that system and weld it onto mine (since its going on there eventually with my swap) Ill post pics when I get finished tomorrow...

Well... got the hole welded up and my exhaust is sounding normal... but I couldn't get the muffler on bc the exhaust I have on currently is at an angle and the cat would be hitting the bumper and there's no support to hold it up... I might just get a new system for my swap modified to my car or get a local shop to put it on... Ill post pics when I can
