Default clutch question

so i bought a ej hatch a few years ago, in neutral, clutch in sounds fine, clutch let out and it makes a whining sound. i just changed transmissions and it's doing the same thing now. clutch out at neutral and its making noise, clutch in and its nice and quiet. any insight? should i try bleeding the line? when changing tranny i just unbolted the slave and put to the side.

thank you much

changed the trans ? so you re-used the old clutch and flywheel ? or did you mix those two up

That's classic input shaft bearing.

...Or buy the parts and tools you'll need, and fix it?

As long as you pay close attention to detail, replacing an ISB isn't that hard. Couple hundred bucks for parts and tools, a factory service manual, and a weekend under your car, and you'll have it fixed.
