hey guys how are yall doing well i really need some help i have a 98 civic lx and im having a bad start off year to this car have only had it 2 months nd its down and out for the count all ready i was leaving walmart one night and i hit 2nd gear the check engine light came on lights were flickering really bad gage was going all over the place i have replaced the Distributor and alt and 12 volt relay and what the car is doing is struggling to stay running after all thoes new parts i turn on the headlights and they are still flickering and the car is bucking really bad and backfiring alot if left to idle it really doesnt really wona run am i in limp mode or what is going on i would really like to know and i took my clear distributor off and the parts are chewed up and its acting like its draing power from some were amd i dont know were from some one help plz i wont my car back on the road

Are the injector clips tight? Are the plug wires all snug?

 

i was in a rush last night.and 2 my computer has had it some keys dont work right. and yes they are i have replaced every thing. its like the ecu is not sending power but the car will not start i have to jump it off. when i do jump it off it acts like it doesnt wona run i has a code reader. one of the codes was p1298 replaced the load detector. stil hade the code put a new distribute on code went away

 

Bby get a new ecu or pull apart the engine

 

im hoping just ecu i have been trying to find a civic lx 98 5 speed trans ecu hard to come by

 

AEM doe. Worth it

 

got a new ecu still doing the same thing so idk what to do. is your key suppose to wiggle if u got the key in the ignition? like i put it in there and the key wiggles around. i can move it back and forth

 

It should stay in one place. Get a new ignition switch

 

ok i got tht fixed but now but now its poping number 15 fuses left and right nd i cant find the problem but now my gage cluster has burnt up and the wiring harness under the hood on the driveside under the brake master slinder has started smoking so idk wht to do now i cant get this car running to save my life and i dont wona scrap it or sell it i have put to much money in it
