Default Step on the gas, let off the clutch, and 97 Civic just dies

Hey guys, I just finished a motor swap on my 97 civic. Once I got the motor all hooked up it started just fine an never had an issue with starting it or anything while it was sitting on jack stands. I put the car on the ground and it started just fine, but the second I put it in gear, stepped on the gas and started letting off the clutch it just died. Now the motor cranks and it sounds like it wants to turn over but nothing. Any ideas what this could be? I never opened the hydraulic system to the clutch so it would be hard to believe that it's a bleeding issue. Any ideas???

The clutch pedal doesn't feel any different now than it did before the swap

Another update....motor started a little sluggish but the second I hit the gas it fired up and is idling fine. It almost sounded like a flooded engine starting

I think so. It was wierd that it caused that issue whatever it was. I tried driving it about 45 minutes later and it worked however the motor does have a little hesitation at low Roma only under load so I think it could be a mix between timing being off and bad plugs
