Default 98 ek dx with check engine light. HELP

Car is a 1998 ek hatchback dx obd2a. It has a y7 motor with y8 manifold. I moved the pin to the correct spot for a 2 wire obd1 iacv. I start the car it idles fine, then when I drive it an stop, it idles at 1500 to 1600 back an forth, small bounce. I've checked the codes an I got an error reading codes. Also when I drive the car an let off the gas pedal an go to press it, pressing it again jerks.

First off, if it's a DX, it's an EJ6, not an EK.

Check the FAQ's sticky, there's a how-to for manually checking codes. All you need is a paperclip or short length of small gauge wire. Sounds like your IACV wasn't wired correctly, though.

You can't wire 3-2 wire and still use the Y7s ecu. Wire it back and use the Y7 throttle body.

Ok. So resulting in that issue, I either have to use a y7 throttle body convert back to a three wire iacv or stay converted to a two wire iacv and get a obd2a to obd1 jumper harness with a dx ecu??

well there's no real good option here. you'll have to use your dx throttle body. I have yet to see a good map for d16y7/8 available yet.

Ok we'll no one said anything about an ecu beside the statement said I can't run a 2-wire plug with my stock dx y7 ecu. I'm gonna put the y7 throttle body on an see if that works. Any other suggestions?

Like I already said, pull the code(s). You can't fix something if you don't know exactly what the problem is in the first place.

I fixed it. Put a y7 throttle body with gasket, changed the throttles out an put it on, no more check engine light an its idles perfect now... Thanks guys.
