Default Brake lights dont turn on

i have a 89 crx and my brake lights are not turning on. i checked all the fuses with my fuse tester and they were all perfect. i replaced all the bulbs to make sure none of them were out and that still did not fix it. i replaced my brake light switch and yet that still did not fix the problem. i went ahead and took off the switch and put a paperclip in the actual brake switch plug to run it straight but the brake lights didnt turn on. eerie, any ideas what it can be? please help.

I think you've done your best to troubleshoot it. You sure there's power at the plug on the brake filament side?

Do you have a multimeter ??? If not goto harbor freight and spend $5 and get one. Otherwise you can scratch your head on this problem for days.

check grounds 511 and 551 (one is below rear latch)

check for open in green/white wire

Had same issue, all fuses where good. In my case it was a bulb in the gauge cluster that some how shorted out the break lights. Not saying thats your problem but worth checking the cluster.
