Not sure were you live but should bring it to a shop that repairs transmissions or transmission exchange. They would know definitely.

Ya it's repairable. V the **** out of it and do a few layers.
What rod. I have no idea. What alloy is it?

you need to take it all apart first and clean the **** out of it, I'm not sure how much oil has gotten into the metal as it's been sitting in oil for years,of course oil is inside of the crack, I dont see any way of cleaning it out without taking everything apart, I know once it's apart and cleaned you can carefully wave a torch over the area to burn out any oil you missed, then clean it again, the crack itself is the easy part, it's getting rid of the oil, just like trying to weld on a used valve cover

And tack that bitch in place, that crack is pretty far down so you don't want it to break when you v groove it.

Getting rid of all the oil that has soaked into it will be the worst part. I just recently patched up a moroso road race oil pan via tig of course for a guy and it was annoying as hell. I cleaned the **** out of it and let it soak in acetone over night but that didn't really seem to help. It was like trying to weld right over paint. Shielding gas coverage was getting all messed up from the oil residue in the metal burning off while I was welding it.

It's called a shift change holder assembly. In short SCHA.

Speed factory makes a replacement piece that is much better than the OEM unit.

Find the reason it broke first, as long. As its clean,a good weld will make it good as new

I actually broke on completely in half shifting to hard before when I was younger. I took it out and had it welded and it worked perfectly and never happened again! Good luck

It seems to be a common failure point, once its been fixed it shouldbe fine

Hi,

I would clean it , tack it , small V cut and TIG weld it with 312 SS wire. I have used 312 for years for every type of steel and it is the best as far as I'm concerned.

As said, clean it. Heating it up in an oven will help get the oil off, just don't use an oven you plan on cooking in ever again.

I would just find a used one, or buy the speedfactory one as stated.
