Well the heater in my 89 Si is not working, i never thought i would need it but today I was driving to school at 7 am and the weather was reallly cold, now i realized that i do need it. I worked before i changed the motor (same motor but less miles) ever since it hasnt worked, what can i do to check what is wrong??? i dont feel like freezing my *** off during the winter...

if you pulled the heater hoses off via the firewall and not the engine, there is a big big big big big big big chance you fucked up your heating system, which means the dash has to come out and **** needs to be replaced. hope this helps

Check to make sure that your thermostat is working properly. I know that if you thermostat is stuck open, you will get no heat because the engine will not warm up for at least 30 minutes. Also check to make sure that the dial on your dash is hooked up to the heater control valve (like an above poster stated).
Yes, it blows air but its all cold air. I am sure i didnt remove the heater lines when i did the swap... this didnt happen to me when i did my zc swap on my dx... but yeah.. i guess ill double check everything and flush it once more...
thanks

Is it the fan that isnt blowing, or just cold air blowing out??
I had a mouse nest in my fan blower. It caused it not to spin, which meant there wasnt much air/heat blowing out. Smelled like **** everytime I turned it on. I opened it up and there was a bunch of house insulation with a mouse skeleton. Anyways, thats probably not your problem, its just a good story to tell. My CRX sat in a barn for 8 years....

I got the same prob and I replaced the heater core and thermostat and it still doesnt heat up unless I let it idle for a while. Kinda pisses me off.

Mine blows (cold air only of course, but not that cold cause the A/C doesn't work...) but no hot air...and the cable does move the little valve on the hose that goes into the firewall. I've got the stock engine. Never flushed the coolant though.
I believe that my thermostat is stuck open because it takes forever for the car to warm up on cold mornings.
What is the reason I don't get heat?
Thanks -
Alex
