Turbo oil feed question
Ive turboed many Hondas over the years and have mainly used garret or turbonectics turbos. All the time ive used -3AN feed line with a -10AN return line and never had an issue.
I recently purchased a Comp CT3-5858 billet wheel turbo/journal bearing
The instructions say on the Comp Turbo website to use a -4an line without a restrictor. I'm gona go by what they say, but I wanted to make sure is that what people are running on Honda motors. I know the oil pressure from Honda engines is very high. I just don't want the seals to blow out on me.
Has anyone used these turbos yet?

Comp Turbo may have differing requirements even though they may be in a similar family as the Garrett/Turbonetics/Precision line-up. -4ANs are a little one the large side for Honda engines, especially for journal bearing turbochargers , if they are using a smaller shaft. If its a larger turbine shaft used, then it shouldn't be a problem. Just be prepared to purchase a -4an .060" restrictor in case, which is what is used in most cases where oil pressure is past 80psi. Try it, and see if you need it. but it won't kill it immediately.
Good luck.
Good luck.

They use a much larger bearing system iirc. I talk to the comp guys at every formulad event and every turbo of theirs I see on a competition car runs a 4an without issue
the instructions on their website say for a standard bearing system use -4an, does that mean journal bearing? I just afraid that a -4an will flow too much and put oil in the compressor housing.

Standard bearing is considered journal, however if you have doubts simply call comp and ask to speak to a tech or someone who knows the product and the application
You'd have much better luck doing that then posting here... comps products aren't as abundant as other turbo companies so most info is unknown/proprietary so you'd need to call them.
Don't email them, you'll have better luck on the phone
