02 EP3 with K24a2 head and Type S VT and Cams
I will be boring and polishing my head and reseating the valves ( I forgot what thats called) It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with my motor but I finally gain enough knowledge and skill to go foward with the project. For those of you who have read my previous threads, Welcome Back! So now this is the real deal and there is no backing out and Everything I do has been well thought out, if a more desciptive description is need for anything please feel free to pm me.
So I just bought a K24a2 head for a hell of a deal, I think its from an 06'. I will be porting and polishing it and throwing my barely worn Type S cams and VT in it with A2 VTC gears. I will also be dropping in lower compression pistons into my block and HD Rods, by the way the head is going on a K20A3 block. But back to the pistons, I wanna stay to the same bore specs but just lower the compression ratio from 9.5.1 for a potential custom turbo app. Any input on where to find some decent pistons other than K-series parts.com is welcome, I already saw theres. after getting all this done of course Kpro will be put in and tuned local, I release the name wen its done to vouch for quality.
So this thread has been opened for your inerest and opionions are welcome and I'm all ears on your projects too. I thought long and hard on this and this is what I am gonna do. Like I said cons and pros are welcome!

Hey my two fav people how u been. So first Spaz I think its a 06' head still need to verify. But even if it is, I only have Z3 and A2 cams on me right now, but do you really belive the 06'+ TSX Cams are that much more aggressive. And next Dood I agree with u, I figured I would just do it while I was in there and swap the pistons and rods, but I would would rather spend money on tuning it properly and add the pistons wen I do turbo like u suggested.

OH OH any comment on the porting and polishing, this will be my first time but I am really good with my hands and Ive done similar work. Any tips would be awesome
I built an engine for a customer we hit 600whp and we are running 10.5:1
9.5:1 is way to low in my opinion for an engine that barely makes any HP and TQ on it's own. And yes the 06 cams are the biggest factory cam. But you could always do anything you want. I'd keep the TSX 06 cams personally. Maybe swap out the exhaust for the Z3 exhaust cam. But that's just my opinion.

Also spaz do u mean get the 06+ tsx intake cam and VTC gear and just swap the exhaust cam out with a a2 or z3 cam.... im gonna be using the type s Valve train... I like that mix though to be honest with u. wen i said i was dead set on the project I dead set on the head not the cams and pistons lol... keep feeling my head with k-series kwnolodge.
So the head is an 06' which is awesome, and Ill be buying the original cams gears and solenoid from the same head independently. ill buy the intake cam and VTC gear off the guy and use the Z3 cam for the exhaust like Spaz recommended. Project is underway...
