Manifold welds cracked: Relief cuts?
I've got an old school mini-ram manifold (CC-fab, lol) and the welds connecting two of the runners to the flange cracked, so I had it re-welded and the flange decked. Year or two later, another runner cracked and the bottom of another one cracked. Had every runner re-welded again, and it's sitting at the machine shop now to get decked again to make sure it's flat.
My question is, should I cut some relief cuts into the flange? The flange is rusty and the runners look like all other weld-els, so I'm assuming the flange is mild and the runners stainless.

i once had a cc fab manifold. it had one runner noticeably longer than the others on an "equal length" design so it looked a bit retarded. thats why my friends called it the corky manifold, after the poor kid from that show life goes on. fucked up right.
fwiw i think those were all made with a harbor freight tig welder.

Honestly, everything on the manifold looks really good/legit except for the runner to head flange cracks popping up every once and a while. Machine shop called today to say it's nice and flat.
We'll see! Gonna say **** it all and let er' rip i guess, lol.
Anyone remember those good 'ole days of hotrex/devcon block filling/scamming/"where the hell is my manifold" threads? Ahhh... the good old days.

I like the manifold cuts on the flange but if you cuts yours it will likely move quite a bit. Many finished manifolds are under some stress at the flange.
