Default AUTO VS MANUAL D16Y8's

WHat are the differences betweeen the D16Y8 when used with a manual transmission as opposed to the auto?
I have an auto but if i find a D16Y8 that was used with a 5speed.
Can i still use the bottom end and head with my accesories and auto trans?

thank you, I need to get a motor asap and looking for a good deal. But the D16Y8's from auto's are very limited it seems.

OK, THANK YOU. I heard that some of the bolt on things are different like intake and throttle body.
Is this true and what else is different.
I found a D16Y8 with 136 thousand miles and a 6 month warranty.
Engine is every thing from intake to oil pan and it is from an Auto.
The price on it is 875.00. Seems a little high for me but what do you think.
Is that a good deal?

I was specific enough for answer that i really wanted. All i wanted to know is if the engine was the same which it turns out it is.
So I can buy either angine. I would just have to use my intake and everything else if i buy an engine that was used on a manual car.
this is why I dont post much cause there is someone always unhappy with anything that is asked.

you asked if the engine was the same . . . he said yes . . . then you asked about the other stuff on the engine was the same. he said the engine is the same . . whats attached is a different story

No one has any patience around here for lazy *** people . . . if you can find the answer in .09 sec on google, or use the search function @ the top of every single screen here why the hell are you wasting our time and yours? . . laziness . . .if you cant use the search function or google you SHOULD NOT be changing your motor . . .

your lucky Marc even took the time from his busy day to oblige your laziness....

Don't know how people ascribe emotions to written words.
Maybe Google a bit more before posting?

Define "accessories" then.

i searched. trust me. i would search anything before i ask.
And i am sure i have changed more engines in my lifetime than most.
From big bad tanks to itty bitty lawn mowers. So don't tell me i shouldn't change an engine or that i am lazy.
And so now i guess there is a limit on what i can ask on a thread that i started.
I was just trying to have a conversation and gain more knowledge about the differences that i could not find specifics to on google and d-series and hondatech.

Don't tell me you searched. A simple check of part numbers would have answered your questions.

google gave me 53 million results to look through "use manual d16 long blocks in automatic civic"

long blocks are 200-500$ at any importer . . . . paying 850 for one is ridiculous too, also, and, as well

850 is a rip off for a used semi high milage engine.

id pay 450

the difference between a auto y8 and manual is the intake and its 1 sensor on the back if you have a auto get a auto, unless you have the manual intake mani, there casted differently

thank you for the information folks.
I can not find a decent cheap D16Y8 in my area.
I am going to do a full engine rebuild in 4 days. WISH ME LUCK!
It will be a challange for myself and I will hope to have an engine that is better than any used engine that i would have picked up somewhere.
that and i have trust issues. I trust that i can build an engine that will be more reliable and dependable than the engine i would get from Craigslist or a junk yard.
I got an overhaul kit from Ebay 2 day deliver to me for ~350.
It seems like a great deal and you get a lot of items and it does have the metal layered HG.
