You're going to get the answer that you should put in the spring type OEM LMA and not the hydrolic ones you currently have. I'll let the others chime in at this point.

DEFINITELY get the spring type. I bought the OEM ones for $200, but now Skunk2 has a set for half price! Get rid of the cylinder ones all together.

Thks, you advise me to keep the one on the right (OEM B16), or you advice me Springs?

but the ones on the left seem stronger and wider? I think these are GSR ones?

This is where I ordered mine from.

http://www.autodynamics-honda.com/hopclomoas.html

Part number: 14820-PCB-305

You don't need shims with these like the H22 because they already have them on the bottom. These got rid of any "ticking" in my head from the cylinder style sticking.

OK thank you.
Honda doesn't provide anymore the cylinder style ones?
What are the difference between the 2 cylinder style?

YEah you want the spring style LMA. I have H22 LMA in my Ls Vtec and they work great but need a spacer.

i used the ones without the spacer and just put in a hardened steel washer from lowes. got about 2000 miles no issues so i think im good to go. they dont seem to be quieter than good condition hydraulic ones, but its nice to know they wont go bad

^^ So what he's saying Steeve_Civic is that Prelude spring styles are what's used for the OEM. You have to think a little outside the box when it comes to switching out factory components.

just throwing this out there, but did anyone else notice that the spring type have a slightly smaller diameter and have the smallest bit of side play when dropping them into the head?

I'm curious about the s2 units. If their description is true then I morr than likely know who made the springs. So they should be trouble free

I like the pricepoint as well vs the h22 units but I would like to see and hear real world feedback before investing

ones on the left are usualy in obd2 heads the ones on the right are obd0-1. the pointed top early ones are almost always garbage, dont put them in a motor. better off with the ones on the left. if your not buying new oem.

if you push on them and they bind or have freeplay before getting tension then dont use them!
