Car dies randomly when I stop
I all, I have a slight problem with my good ol' civic. It is a 1999 Canadian Special Edition Sedan Value Package.
Every now and then, when I am driving, and come to a stop, the car dies. It has never done it while moving. When I try to restart it, it starts for a second or two then dies again a few times (I have to keep restarting it) until it stays on.
So:
it dies
I restart it a few (2-5) times, where it starts for a second then dies again, until it stays on. I've also noticed a quirk when I start the car. When I turn the key the second time, the air condition blower motor turns on, but no lights turn on the cluster. I have to give it a tiny nudge to get it to work. I've attached a video with this behaviour. Is this normal? Could the ignition module/switch be causing problems? Thanks in advance.

Try cleaning your Idle Air Control Valve (IACV)
Also check your idle speed and fuel pressure
Those are just some things to do before you start spending money to replace things, hopefully it's something listed above

I just realized my car has never had its fuel filter replaced, and its about to tick over to 140,000km (86,000 miles.) I'm guessing I should change that. Another problem is that if my tank is half empty or less, after being turned off for a few hours, the car takes 6-8 turns to start, whereas it takes 2-3 when it is full.
Change your fuel filter asap, I change mine every 25k - 30k miles.
What about your fuel pump, and fuel injectors?
EDIT: You check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge.
P.S
Here's an alternative way to check FP

Thanks for the quick reply. I believe all the other things were changed along with the timing belt and water pump, but I'll double check. I just watched that video right before I saw your reply. Thanks again
