idle problem

Icon2 idle problem

hey guys i have a b18b1 obd1 swapped ef hatch dx and when i first start it in the morning it idles at a crazy 2500 rpm and i dont know how to fix it any ideas? thanks in advance

the problem most likely lies in your cold fast idle valve (FITV) it's most likely out of spec, but could simply not have coolant enough coolant passing through it, due to low coolant or air in the cooling system.

I believe there are sticky threads on the procedure to adjust the FITV, but it's pretty straight forward. opening up diaphragm cover and turn clockwise. until cold fast idle speed is achieved - should be around 1.5k, i believe. engine should cold when attempted to start after adjusting.
