So i go to start my crx this morning and it cranks like it wants to start but just cranks . thinking its an alternator issue because my battery is brand new or could it be my starter just trying to bounce things off of people?

 

Alternator would not prevent your car from starting.
Starter seems fine since it's cranking the engine.

 

^Exactly. Have you done anything recently to the engine? Or experienced anything that seemed off? Generally speaking in a no start condition you would normally confirm if you still have spark/fuel/compression. Easiest to check first is spark (ground out a wire and visually confirm you have spark on all four wires).

 

yeah i still have a spark and no haven't touched the engine minus looking at my air filter. and its cranking just not totally turning over.

 

It's turning over just fine because you are able to crank it over with the starter.
It's just not running.

When you put the key in and turn it to the ON position (the position just before "start"), does the Check Engine Light come on for about 4 seconds and turn off?
