Default sensor? identification help

I see this this rusty part screwed into the back of the engine block on my 92 Accord after removing the cylinder head. I'm assuming its a sensor perhaps but would appreciate if someone can easily identify this part specifically, so I can look into getting a replacement if necessary. Plus, you can also see in the photo the poor condition of the connector there and the boot. Inside the connector the plastic tabs thingy is broken, and of course the boot/cover is not looking too healthy either. Thanks for any help/comments.

That is the oil pressure switch.

Great. Thanks Lost Again. I'm pretty sure the switch itself, although could use some cleaning up, is probably okay, but the connector is probably what I should worry about fixing. If I can find a new connector like that it looks as if I'd have to clip the wire to the old one then splice in the wire of the new one.

What's a good way I might be able to track down the specific Honda part number for that connector?

It's just a rubber seal that slides over a single crimped connector.

You will have a hard time finding a Honda part number. They only come as part of a complete wire harness. If you need the single crip connector. You would have better luck ordering/buying something from an electronics store.

here is a link with similar weather connectors.

Any automotive store should carry a similar crimp on connector. It's the rubber seal around the connector that will be hard to find if yours is rotten/cracked. Might have to try searching through the junk yard and see if you can find any that are in good shape.

Something like this might work; http://www.feked.com/oil-pressure-se...r-triumph.html

It's an oil pressure switch cover from a Triumph... I'm sure there are others.

This one is 1-1/2" high with a 7/8" ID. What are the dimensions of the Honda oil pressure switch?

Yeah that's kinda what I figured, that if I really wanted to replace the connector with a new one from Honda that it'd be all part of the entire wiring harness. Thanks for the reply which confirms what I suspected. So I won't go that route. I went ahead and cleaned up that switch and just took off and threw away that rotten/cracked rubber boot/seal. The little white plastic clip/tab thingy inside was busted anyway, not usable again and purposeless broken. The crimp-on connector I just squeezed a little tighter and it fits tightly onto the switch. I have some heavy duty rubberized weather tape material I think I could wrap around the connector and the switch to serve as protection instead of worrying about searching for something hard to find for this, then I think it'll be fine for me. Plus, where I live there are no junkyards to search through, so that unfortunately is never an option for me.

The rubber tape could work. I was also going to add that a tightly wrapped covering of electrical tape from the base of the switch & covering the connector would work in a pinch as well.....

they do make liquid electrical tape, it comes in this little metal can wit a screw on lid that has a brush attached, like cans of rubber cement or pvc glue. it will give u a better seal than tape n less likely to come off.

Yeah maybe wrap/cover with electrical tape like you describe, then maybe to protect a little more from moisture or whatever put some of my rubberized weather tape stuff on there too. I forgot what it's called but it's this real heavy duty rubberized tape stuff I guy I know gave me from a boat repair place where he works. It's kind of a thick strong sticky duct tape type material, but sort of rubberized too.

Yeah that definitely sounds like a good way to go too. Thanks.
