Default Anyone ever see a T1 kill switch stay on all the time?

Pretty odd, but I have do have it wired up correctly, and the two high current terminals stay hot all time. I unhook the low current (switch side) completely and the two high current terminals remain "on" disconnect everything and do a resistance check, and the two high current terminals have continuity even when everything is completely unhooked.

Just wondering if anyone had been there before, and if I am staring down the fact I need to purchase a new one.

How do you have the low current wires to the switch wired?

You should have the red wire going to 12V and the black wire going into the switch. The other side of the switch run a wire directly to ground. The switch interrupts ground on the low current side only.

yes sir...it is wired correctly and confirmed good ground is used, even jumped straight to battery ground.

According to T1 website when you have power and ground applied to the low current side the high current side terminals are connected. What is so strange is that I took it clear out of the car and with everything disconnected the high current terminals still have continuity across them.

Do you have their old style switch? If so I have the same one and have had issues with it. Mine will be shut off, but the alt will still arc. Also sometimes I have to flip it on and off several times before it will allow the car to start up.

Not sure, it appears to be just like the current picture on the website. I am going to hook it up on the bench today but I think it has failed, but failed in the on position.

If you have the old style solenoid it gets stuck if you over tighten the larger terminals on the sides.

and just to be sure you have it hooked up like this

battery/alt/starter on one large terminal and fuse box/accessories/fuel pumps etc on the other?

Yup, just how I had it hooked up.

solid state switch gets stuck?? lol I hope so!! and just rapidly cycling it off and on will unstick it?? I hope so!!

Thanks for the input!! Going to try to get it working again on the bench before installing back into car.

I put the starter on the same side as the rest of the car, not the batt side.

I had the same issue with their first cut off switch.
It was discontinued and replaced with the one they're selling now.
