Default Why does my exhaust buzz?

My exhaust makes a kind of annoying buzzing noise. It is an ebay cat back system but I replaced the muffler with a nicer, better sounding one.

The sound is like this but not as defined or loud. This buzz is worse than mine but just for documentation sake,

The guy in the video said he replaced the resonator with a really long one and it fixed the buzz. Do you think that's all that's wrong with mine?

Do you have a resonator on your car right now?

Yes it has a resonator if you mean the thing that looks like a bloated section of exhaust piping. Just the quality of it may be what's causing the buzz i have no idea.

Its not a new catless cat on it so its not that. That video the guy said he welded in a new resonator and it fixed his problem.... Maybe that's why mine is doing that I just want to confirm that though.

From my experience, the exhaust nose your referring to, sounds like a bee or two inside of a beer can really pissed off. That sound, from what i have found, is caused from the O.E.M. exhaust (tubing, resonator, down pipe etc.) I got rid if the noise on my 92 eg by putting a long *** glass pack in place of the short resonator that came on the car. Its 30 ******* inches long. Un bolt the muffler and drove like that for a while, people asked all the time what was done to the car and said it didn't sound like a 4 banger.

Btw. Glass pack, resonator. Same thing. Resonator is stock, glass pack is aftermarket.

What i am using is nothing OEM, its an ebay downpipe (2") and a 2.25" cat back.

Even before I replaced the fart can muffler it would make the annoying buzz.I thought it was the muffler itself that did it cause it would vibrate and make a noise that way, probably cause it was flemsy material and resonated the buzz sound more. When I put the new muffler on the buzz became way more refined, its still there though.

Do you think its my cheap ebay resonator which is causing this or are ebay cat backs not known to make such a noise?

It could be the cheaply built resonator. Or maybe you have a bad leak somewhere. Do you have the OEM or aftermarket high flow cat converter?
