Exhaust leak?

Exhaust leak?
So today I decided to make my own cat back system for my h23 prelude. It was good until i revved it then it sound like the biggest pile of rice. I think its an exhaust leak but everybody keeps telling me that exhaust leak wont make that noise. It sounds like a loud weed whacker basically like straight pipe. My setup is this. No cat no resonator and a obx twinloop muffler with 2.5 all the way. I know for certain that i have a leak directly before the muffler on the top half where i didnt weld. Can it make that ricey weed whacker noise from that little leak? Any fixes if it isnt the leaks doing such as resonator or better muffler? I really dont want to sound like a ricer and i get enough crap as it is for driving a honda and the exhaust will make it worse.

Re: Exhaust leak?
Yeah an exhaust leak will sound like crap, but you will probabaly need to add a resonator into the system as well at some point, but get the leak fixed first and see how it does.

Re: Exhaust leak?
A cat will quiet it down as well, but for a good cat, it will costa decent amount. You get added benefit of being nice to the environment, and not killing baby penguins.
Resonator, I think the one in my Thermal is around 18" long in the center section of the exhuast, they are pretty basic.

Re: Exhaust leak?
On a cold start, add seafoam very very gently into the brake booster intake manifold port. Check for white smoke leaking out of the exhaust. Again, go very slowly so the car doesn't stall. You want to add it on a cold start so the car is idling higher and you don't have to worry as much about the car stalling.
