1997 CRV with ABS: brake pulsing at low speeds just before stopping
- Problem has been active for a few weeks
- Occurrs on dry asphalt going less than 10 MPH while braking gentally and no grinding noise heard
- ABS warning light NOT on when it occurss (light is on momentarily when car is started)
- Front rotors and pads replaced
- Front caliper pins lubricated and move freely
- Rear brake shoes ok, not worn
What can I do to find the problem or deactivate the ABS and keep the warning light off? If expensive new parts are required, I’d prefer to simply deactivate the ABS.
Thanks

You can unplug the abs module so it's got no power to it, but the bulb will always be one. The only way to have it with the bulb out is you would need to remove the bulb from the cluster.
It's most likely a ABS sensor that has a intermittend problem. My left rear sensor acts up sometime and my light will come on, but I'm not worried about.

I'd take the wheels off and just clean all of the sensors as my first try. they are in a pretty good area for catching dusts, dirt, grime, salt, etc. either them or the teeth on the axle could maybe bad. what do I know I'm just guessing.
