Default My new 91 civic si hatch

Wussup guys, I recently bought a 91, civic si . Canadian . Has a 99 b20b and unknown tranny ( long gears might be gsr, bushings for tranny are worn so it feels loose.) But anyways, I bought the car and it was idling up and down, from 1k to 2500k back and forth, thought the iac needed a cleaning so I did that, no results . Than I look at the vaccume lines and some arent hooked in and some dont look right likr they shouldnt be where they are, so im thinking the cause is the vaccume line. But my question is if anyone knows or has a diagram of what hoses should go where for the b20b? Also the clutch is weird, seems to be hard to get into gear some times, I have to double clutch and it works but the clutch doesnt let me shift till im floored and even sometimes thats not enough. I gotta give it an extra push to get it into gear once im already floored. Checked clutch cable adjust ment and it seems to be as tight as it can be. Any ideas? Any info would be much appreciated, love this new hatch but it needs some work ,so I look forward to hearing what yall got to say ! Thanks much!

If the gears seem long, probably a ls trans (gsr trans would be an upgrade because it has shorter gears than a ls)

Most of the lines on the motor you would be looking at that lead to vacuum will be from the charcoal canister. Not gonna look it up for you atm but I would spray some carb cleaner around the t/b and intake manifold and other hoses to see if there is indeed a vac leak.

Start with the bushings for the shift linkage (as you stated you know they suck) and change out the fluid...who knows the last time thats been done....

Shifting issue sounds like it could be a bad pressure plate. Good lucky tuning her up, post some pictures too!

My charcoal canister appears to be not hooked up or something, the line that comes from the bottom of it leads no where. Its just an open tube. And I dont think its a leak but some vac lines are most def not hooked up. Iv tried searching for vaccume line diagrams but none seems to match the b20b. Or at least mine lol. Also im running a pr4 90 Integra ecu. If that matters . (Noob here)

Look up charcoal canister diagram for even a ls, b16, gsr....will all be pretty much the same thing. Very little differences, mostly the purge solenoid placement.

Then plug all the nipples on the t/b, intake manifold, and vacuum lines that are charcoal canister/purge solenoid related...

Okay so i capped everything like you said and left my 2 dashpots open to breathe and than inalso notice that whoever did the swap put the stock si dizzy with it. Does not match the b20b and is only screwed on by one screw. Will this cause my idle to be high? Gonna buy a 90-91 dizzy in the next few days.

I think...good thing you are getting a dizzy soon, cause damn
There is so much bs going on in that bay its not even funny.
You can start by going to a auto parts store and getting a hose that goes from the valve cover breather to the intake pipe.

The one that goes from the valve cover to the cold air Intake? And yes I know the guy did the swap so wrong but I saw it as a project and decided to get it. But what would running that dizzy cause? Is it safe to drive or am I gonna do some internal damage?

Both dashpots are capped, the one one the tb that the canister was hooked to is caped. The one behind the intake mani where the vaccume line next to the line that hooks into my fuel pressure regulator. And I have the vac line that goes to the map sensor hooked up. Also I capped the one on the cold air intake and the valve cover one. Idles up and down now.

You should probably pick up a Haynes manual or something instead of just moving hoses to different places and seeing what happens. Im sure there is a chart on this forum somewhere too. Would make life much easier for you!

Looks much better...you still capped off the nipple on the valve cover and intake pipe instead of putting a hose there....why?

And I would pick up a manuel but I am unsure of what year my b20b is. Theres a 95-98 and a 99-01 . Id have to take the head off and look at the pistons to verify and I dont have much time right to do that lol I work a lot and need my car running

I would get the correct dist first and see if it corrects the idle. Dont know for sure if it would do that, but im guessing no. There are only so many reason idle surges. Vac leak, and air in the collant system are the top 2 reasons. Bleeding the air from the coolant system isnt hard to do.
