retard the timing on my junkayard turbo setup?
In my crx, i will be doing a mitsu 14b turbo with modified Starion intercooler running 8 pounds. fuel will be managed with an inline fuel pump and a 12:1 FMU. I plan on using colder plugs. Do I need to retard my timing?
Better yet, don't loose your down low power buy my Brand New unopened Universal MSD BTM and you can have your retarded timing and good low end power... Once again my BTM has never even been opened (still in original twisty ties never been unraveled...) I opened the box flap to take the picture but everything is still sealed... here is a picture of it

Hope this helps.

Im not saying to retard cam timing. But to retard the timing with the distributor. The only thing I hear about the BTM is it retards too much for amounts of booost

Well, actually that's the beauty of the BTM, you don't retard 8 degrees ALL THE TIME...you can set it for 1/2 a pound per pound of boost so that when you're running 4 lbs you would be retarded 2 degrees. It has a fully adjustable **** that retards your timing per pound of boost. and I have seen people set it for 1/4, degree. 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 2, 3, etc... you can adjust it any way you want so if it's retarding it too much just twist the **** a little bit and it's all good! : ).
