Ice box? Are you using this for racing, because it's not really worth it on a daily driver.

As far as installing a CAI goes. It's not always cut and dry whether you will see any gains from it. You definitely won't see any gains in fuel economy if you keep your foot to the floor. You might see a couple horses freed up depending on the length of the intake and style of filter.

This has been discussed at length on more than one occasion. If you search the all motor forum you may find some more information.

Keep in mind this is strictly #'s. I've never seen/felt/owned a cold air intake that has had noticeable power. As JPM mentioned, it sounds meaner which makes you think you're going faster. Maybe in the case of something like:

http://passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-D...2406C1292.aspx
OR
http://passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-D...2591C1306.aspx

which have power chambers to increase velocity you may feels some difference. The generic tube won't harbor any power.

Your intake doesn't get colder it just stays cooler and it will sound better. Because of this, you will get slightly better amount of air in the combustion chamber which will translate into slightly better power. I had one before and I really did feel slightly better power and it sounded better. However you will feel the need to push it harder which will negate any positive effects. lol

Loved the sound of it going threw a tunnel or under a bridge..... I couldn't keep my foot off the gas when I had mine.

My intake was louder than my exhaust.... just he way I like it! I hate fart can Honda's! It's easy to just bolt on a loud muffler. It's harder to make your engine sound nice. That being said, a good header and exhaust setup also changes the intake note as well.

Yes sir! It was cut and bent out of a piece of thin gauge sheet metal. Topped with a piece of old rubber weather stripping I found at the junk yard. It was from the trunk of an 81 Camaro to be more precise.

Currently making a top feed air box/heat shield for my Tribute.
