Default ignition issue

my car won't stay running after i start it unless i hold the key forward all the way. i can let it back enough to make sure the the starter isn't being turned but i'm wondering what would be cause this cause it's starting fine and it runs fine if i do that but i don't want to have it rigged. i'm thinking maybe the ignition switch? if there is one in hondas but i'm not sure thanks in advance.

also, it's a 94 eg coupe stock.

I guess I'm not sure what you're saying. So obviously it will continue to turn over if you stick the key on START...lol.

Does it ever actually RUN, or is it just turning over??

stress test with a HEI tester, sounds like a bad coil.

it does run yes but i'm thinking my ignition is just going out, it doesn't want to stay in the run position unless i hold it past it to right before the starter kicks on.

Yes, back to my original comment - I do believe it sounds like your ignition switch assembly is going out. ;-)

by the way you do NOT need the assembly with new keys and all.. all you need is the electrical part of the assembly
