Ok so i just got my 88 crx HF a few weeks ago and been working on doing a tuen up for it and find out whats been wrong with it. The car runs and drive fine when first started and then once its fully warmed up (temp gauge gets to around the middle) its like a light witch it has a misfire. You can also feel it miss while under 2k rpm while drive once above 2k its not as apparent. Next issue it has,which im not sure if it related, is when i get the car rolling in first gear let the clutch out the goes up to 3k rpm and the bogs down but it only does that in first gear...So far i have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, sea foamed it, and checked the timing,by jumping the yellow connect on the drivers side strut tower, and that brings up another issue. While checking the timing i was able to adjust it to the center red timing mark but then the distributor will not turn anymore. So any insight of any of these problems, or if they are all related, would be greatly appreciated!

 

It sounds like your distributor is failing, but the timing mark should be white not red. the red one is the TDC mark, the white one is the 16* BTDC.

 

yeah that's what i was afraid of...
