Any interest in intercooler kits with mandrel bent aluminum piping?
We are planning on producing some kits for Hondas.
The kits would feature extremely high quality, CNC mandrel bent 2 1/2" aluminum piping, and large (probably 12" x 25" x 3") high flow, impeccably welded intercoolers. Different kits would be made to suit the commonly available exhaust manifolds, to ensure perfect fit.
Kits would be available fully polished, and even with annodized piping if requested.
Price should be somewhere under $1000 USD (hopefully).
Silicone hose and hose clamps would be supplied also.
What do you guys think? is there a market?

Honda guys are cheap. I would rather buy mild or stainless steel and DIY from JC witney. IMO 2.5" is not really needed, but more like 2.25". Aluminum would sure be nice tho..

Hi Art, Thanks for the reply. I noticed on another post that people are buying the DRAG components for a similar price. I think what we are planning would certainly be considered better value for money.
Take it from me, people do not like DIY piping. Your best bet would be to make it application specific.
Yep, that's our plan.
You want a kit to suit a DC2 with a Drag manifold? no problems.
A kit for an SI with an Inline Pro manifold? done!
You want it with red annodized piping? certainly.
To suit a HKS, Greddy, Blitz, etc... BOV? It"s in the mail.....

Will you offer pink or fuscia powercoating?
J/k... yes there is a market for this stuff... but good fitment, extremely detailed digital pictures of everything, and of course a nice price are needed. If you have those 3 things, you should be pretty damn successful. 2K was right, people hate DIY piping kits.

Well, I'd rather not get into powdercoating the pipes, but pink annodizing? hmmmm you could be on to something.... I'll look into it!!! (yes, I am joking)
I personally like the look of Blitz aluminium piping, it's not polished, but it looks like it has been brightened. Kind of a neat, purposefull look. Some of the CAI's like AEM look really good with the coloured annodizing, and I think it would be a nice option for an intercooler kit.
