fuel economy
Now here in Turkey we cruise at around 120 - 160 km/h (KPH). This ofcourse means "VTEC on" "VTEC off" every few seconds lol.

Few questions.

- Would a VTEC CONTROLLER help if i adjust the vtec point HIGHER? (i read that unless you get it TUNED at a higher rpm it's pointless, my issue is "SOMETIMES i wanna go FAST" sometimes i dont. So is there like a SUFFICIENT vtec controller?
- Thermostat - does having one actually HELP fuel economy or is this a myth?
- Does a full exhaust (incl. headers/extractors) effect fuel economy?
- Air Intakes - Simota Whale ****, now this one is bloody technical so without explaining density or blah blah.. Yes or No, does it effect fuel economy?
You are assuming that VTEC engagement on is always going to make the car run with less fuel economy. that's not necessarily the case. Honestly, the stock computer does its best job the way that it is currently, without any interference from the owner. So, no, setting VTEC higher won't really help you.
All of the other components you're listing affects midrange and peak power output, and does not help with additional fuel economy at all.
Thermostat change is a myth.
Your best bet is to alter driving habits, stay in an upper gear as much as possible while cruising, check your tires for over/under inflation, maintain proper maintenance, (spark plugs, OEM air filter, cap/rotor and wires) and you'll have your maximum fuel economy. But the biggest change is driving habit.

With a proper controller, engine management you can change the load threshold to engage high cam which would allow you some more rpm on the low can at higher wheel speeds.
This has very little to do with NA.

-_- i hate when this happens lol.
So is it a MYTH?? or NOT?
From technical reading, (but not HONDA specfici just cars in GENERAL) an engine not running at the right temperature is an engine not working efficiently (this includes FUEL CONSUMPTION/EFFICIENCY).
Ofcourse this probably isn't for all vehicles, but does it effect Honda??
