Default forced induction and mini me swaps. common??

so heres the big Q on my mind right now.

this is a classic tale of building my motor and wanting more after all lol.
i decided a few months back to run a mini me swap in my 90 ef hatch.
i went with the origional A6 block and a vtec Y8 head.
i also put in the effort to do the job right replacing all bearings rings seals and pumps at the same time. i also upgraded to a MLS head gasket and ARP studs.

the build went great and i ended up with a bullet proof sohc minime swap.

im wondering if running a turbo kit with all supporting modifactions will be too much on the bottom end. i know mini me swaps already run high compression especially in the Y8's but im only shooting for hopefully 6 psi.
im guessing i have around 120 horse right now and looking to get about 200 to 220. reasonable i think..
has anyone ever seen or heard of people boosting mini me's?

you can definetly get 200... 220 would be pushin it. once you go over 200 you start risking bending rods. When i had my sohc D16z6 i was considering building it to go beyond 200 but i went with b series since they have stronger rods and can easily handle 300-350

Going on the assumption that you are using D16A6 pistons and rods and the head has not been milled at all then your compression will be 10.34 static. Nice compression to boost at IMO. But dont push the D series rods too hard they dont like much past 200whp, thin as pencils they are.
