ABS Control Unit compatibility in 4th gen
Hi all,
Mine is 95 4th gen Prelude RH 2.2 Vtec, check with the Honda EPC by VIN, the part no. of ABS Control Unit is 39790-SS0-003, can I use the 39790-SS0-A01 or 39790-SS0-A61 instead?
I check by part code, the A01 is for 2.3 and A61 is for 2.0.
Thanks!

I wasn't aware that there were different control units depending on engine. Not sure if anyone has mixed matched them since most 4g owners remove the ABS since they always fail.
The modulators on 4gs are so prone to failure that I'm converting mine to use the compact ABS/TCS from a 97-01 Prelude, those systems never fail.

Please do a write up, it can't be too hard, just wire it up for power, gnd, 4 wss inputs and a few other wires like to the cluster. Do you know if 5 gen runs off of any data lines?
I downloaded 5 gen service manual, I want to know that what component need to change to gen 5, or just change the ABS control unit only? Thanks!

Perhaps when I'm at the point on mine where I can share some info on the conversion I will. The first guy who did it was supposed to do a write up but it's been quite some time and he still hasn't, it's not super difficult though if you can get creative with making a bracket and repinning the harness in the car.
Right now I've been tweaking the 5g bracket to work and bolt in using the 2 lower holes for the old modulator, after that I'll bend the lines to fit, shouldn't have to make any new ones, the other 2 guys didn't. Then finally I'll do the wiring part.
