B18C1 with CTR Type Cam issue
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this :-)
My car tuner has just advised me that his mate of his in Hamilton has finally got his own dyno sorted.

Apparently spent 3 years slowly calibrating it to make it perfect, you can't create a perfect dyno but I thought it was quite accurate.
SO, B18C1 P72, CTR Cams, Standard Headers, 2.5" Straight through w\ Mugen Tip, I reach 107kW with a B18C1 Base map tune...was a little but disappointed but gave us room for improvement.
After 4 hours of fine tuning and dyno runs, I reached 125kW @ 7400 RPM, Bare in mind this is the first stages of using his own dyno for the first time properly, we had forgotten to raise the dyno RPM limit to 8100 (which is my RPM limit atm) as you can see with the dyno printout, We realized that we didn't take it to its limits AFTER we took off all the gear, 4 hours later we just had enough...there is more power to be shown, hence why I am looking greatly forward to getting my car DYNO'd again...
PROBLEM IS
You can see how the CTR cams have really horrible low lobs which are to be expected but definitely BANG FOR BUCK when it hits high lobs
VTEC: 4500
IAB: 5300
We tried to fix the dip but making the car leaner and richer, raised the VTEC switchover to 5100 but it lost even more power if we let the low lobs run through....no matter WHAT we couldn't get that dip out...other than that we happy with the result, we tested at 12.7 AFR and 13.3ish and can confirm 13.3ish seems to be where the power is made safely.
Timing was a mixed bag,. even down to .5 of timing changes really made a difference to the DYNO chart. Overall pretty satisfied but if anyone could help me on some ideas maybe to get this dip out, that be highly appreciated

You say STD header what does it mean by that with any cammed engine it needs to breath your setup is not complete yet.The dyno seems to show high figures but that depends what part of the world your in.
I am using 98 Octane, I am from New Zealand, to be honest for my setup we are getting people with 130kW+ as a standard benchmark. Just not sure about this dip.
As for the cell we are using, we can see with the dyno and What RPM we are at, What the AFR is and go from there, we made it rich, lean, raised VTEC, bypassed the butterfly valve. Nothing :-( Unless I need to run 3" exhaust? seems a bit OTT to be honest
