why is it that i get a better low end with a long cold air intake and a better high end from have a short ram intake? how does the longer intake give the engine better low end? i have some idea but not sure why.

cold air intake raises the AIR induction to start out but take longer to suck it in but it is better for you on the HIGH END...plus you'll need better fuel injectors to balance it out.......short ram is constant sucking in air from the same place not neccessarily better on highends most likely better on LOW END

I believe you got it backwards

but at high rpms don't you want as much air as possible and a shorter intake makes it easier for the moter to breath. if long is better for high end then why is the type R manifold like it is and not more like the gsr where is loops around?

nope man your wrong
short ram=better highend
cai=more midrange and lower intake tempatures which could inturn make more hp all together.

o ya you dont need bigger injectors for intake your ecu will reset itself. that is what mass air flow sensors are for.

Short intakes are better for high end... better air flow at WOT.
