after 30 min. of driving speedo acting up, d4 light flash. no code and shifting actin
Hey guys I have a 95 accord auto. And after driving 30 minutes my speedo starts acting up, I can turn my cruise control on but it cuts off soon as the speedo needle jumps down to a certain point. It is always fine until 30 minutes after driving....why does it take 30 mins. Before it acts up..? Also a few more minutes after it starts acting up my d4 light blinks and the car will jump back and forth between gears while accelerating but once at steady speed the gears straighten out but the d4 and speedo continue. Im not getting a code from d4 its just a steady flash. When starting the car after its completely cooled down everything is fine until 30min. Even no d4 flashing. Why does it take 30 min. And not do this when I first start driving...? And what would cause this? I know some of you have had the problem I don't know about the shifting part but the rest I know a few of you have had...but thanks in advance...and if you not gonna help or just be a smartass or say I'm posted in the wrong place or something don't boyh messaging me. I don't bust peoples ***** for it. I'm here for help not you opinion on anything else but what's wrong with my car
..like I said thanks I'm advance.

Hey man I just saw your post and wondering if you ever figured out what was going on with your car (I just bought this 95 Accord yesterday and I'm having the EXACT issues you had described in your post )
Sounds like the VSS is acting up.

I agree check your vss also you can always check your tcu codes. For my 92 accord when my d4 light was going off I used the cel pin. It should check both cel and tcu codes by counting flashes. Then just Google the codes.
I'm going to disagree with Vehicle Speed Sensor. Just pointing out the symptoms you mentioned.
Seems Like Electrical.
Common problem on our Accords. Ignition Switch. Electrical contacts are burned out. Needles jump, car will intermittently die, lights will blink on your cluster. It will get worse as the contacts heat up, until your car will not stay running.
50$ fix, and some screwdrivers.
Quick Check: when it happens, turn the key 1/8th of a turn, between the "on" and "start/crank" position. IF your problem goes away, you need a new ignition switch.
Ignition Switch Honda P/N: 35130-SV4-003
Located in "Combination Switch" on Honda Parts under Electrical.

PS. You have to take the part, and pull it apart, requires a little force to pull the coils out of the plastic sleeve.
You should end up with 4 pieces.
-Snap Clip (Plastic Locking Piece) -remove this
-Switch (White Circular Piece) -take apart to inspect contacts
-Copper Coils (All the metal pieces inserted into the green Plastic)
-Plastic Sleeve (My Old one was green, new one is blue)

sorry OP for looking like i'm threadjacking buuuut.
i'm having the same type of issue with my speedo.
when i'm cruising around the streets its good for about 20-30 minutes then the d4 starts to blink. i was on the highway the other day using cruise control and my mph needle started bouncing to zero and knocking me out of CC. once the needle registered my speed again i clicked resume and it would work.
could this be due to being boosted?
i think i need to change the cluster because the left side does not light up and my right side does light up but its dim and the switch is turned all the way up.
