Do I have a bad alternator or ground?
Hey all. I just want to ask about this persistent problem I've had for a long while. The car keeps vibrating in D4 and in Reverse. It hasn't gone away and I have done everything to fix it. Its not air in the cooling system; its not a IACV or FTIV; its not the cap/rotor/spark plugs/wires; its not a motor mount; its not any of that. It think its my alternator or something electrical. It seems to get worse when I use the power locks or windows.
So how can I know for sure its the alternator, what's the right way to test it? I don't trust yahoo answers.

Turn the car on and load up every single electrical accessory in the car. If the voltage drops below 13.00 you're alternator is either on its way out or is bad already.
If it's bad just get a reman from rockauto for $90 plus the core. Parts store alternators are junk for Hondas.

Check all your grounds, cables, battery connections etc. Make sure they are all clean and tight.
What is your idle at when the car is in D4 and fully warmed up?

Never hurts to check and reset your idle. It made a world of difference on my car. No annoying vibrations and no bogging on pull out. I don't know how it is on an automatic but it's kinda annoying on a manual

But I thought you weren't supposed to mess with the idle screw?
Don't you have a H23 intake manifold now? Im willing to bet you gotta play with the idle. Just find Hondafan's diy on cb7tuner and follow it to a T and you'll be fine
Yes I did but I the idle screw was never messed with on the manifold, its factory. The thing is, the car doesn't always vibrate and shake at idle, it is intermittent.
