I just changed tranny with supposally good tranny it wont go into 2nd gear and grinds 4th could i have screwed something up on install

 

Unless the clutch is not releasing fully, but this should cause an issue for every gear change. I'm betting you got a junk tranny, it happens all the time. People sell **** and then when it doesnt work right they just say it was fine when they had it.

 

Did you change your cable routing at all? Make sure the cables are connected properly and aren't binding somewhere. Only reason I say this may be the case is you are pulling the shifter back for both of those shifts and that activates the same cable. But the other response may be right though, used parts is always a cluster ****.

 

I didnt route the cables different but today i was messing with it and i pulled the cable off and shifted it manually an it goes in and stays in 2nd fine
