Default intermittent short or something else ?? 89 DX auto

89 CRX DX auto. runs fine but every 30 seconds to every few minutes I will get the "ding ding ding ding" that sounds like my door is open, but the door ajar light does not light (it normally will). Also, get a CEL randomly , try to check the error code but it just short blinks constantly (i stopped counting after 41 blinks)

Seems to happen during deceleration, or during braking , sometimes on hard turns.

Reset ECU but the problem came back (as I would suspect with a short)

What are the best methods for tracking down a short ???

The beeping your hearing is your door pins being partially pushed in and not pushed in. Chances are they are rusty, possibly bent or stuck together so they are always shorting, and saying that the door is open. I tried cleaning mine so that my alarm would work better, and go off when the doors opened but it would just always go off for no reason lol. imo try that, take out the door pins (little black L shaped pieces in the door jam) and see if it makes the noise.

Hey, a DX Auto. You're honestly one of the only people that I've ever heard of owning one besides myself.
