Little do you know...at the beginning of that straight the hatch had 8 carlengths...R OWNZ...

Even if the hatch did pass it then....not like he could hold it in braking.

I think that's me from Sunday. I believe I was the only '97 that was running OEM CW wheels and I think I see some white in the front wheel well.

I wasn't gonna hold up a much faster (in the straights ) car.

Yeah, for some reason, NOS wasn't working on Sunday.

Edit: for a rad car and driver. I saw in the big *** Gingerman post you and Scott had to franitcally get it ready for Sunday. What had to be done?

Nice pic Donny. Those 97s aren't yell00 so they got to be slow.
Glad you had fun. Too bad the season is over and we all have to wait at least 6 months before the next season begins.

Yea, Aaron is slow. I didn't see you pass any Yellow R's Sunday....

My question is... who was the blue hatch that was passing you (donnie) at the end of the day? That guy was fast......

lol, I have a freind who does alot of SCCA and Prorally. He has a '00 PY ITR and '94 civic CX hatchcrap. His best times and wins are always in the hatchcrap due to cause the car being lighter. And everything on a ITR (brakes, suspension, etc) bolts up.

Not that I'm trying to start anything but just a thought.

EG & EK hatchbacks (especially EG) ARE a better platform the the DC2R IMO.
With all the weight savings [e]from the factory[/e], the DC2R still weighs in at around 2600 lbs [e]stock[/e].
A bone stock grocery getting EG hatch only weighs 2200 lbs. Take into account of stripped interior, then add the weight from a faster but heavier motor, roll cage, brake and suspension bits, the car would still be at least 200 lbs lighter. That's a lot for our torqueless car.

But with an ITR, you don't need to go thru all the motor and parts swapping hassle. Good enough to go to track right out of the box.

DC2R can get a lot lighter than 2600lbs. Never as light as a hatch, but it can be within a few hundred lbs. Stock, the DC2R is a superior chassis than the EG or EK.

But once you start modding a car, all bets are out the window. You can make a 79 Pinto own an R on a roadcourse if you really want to.
