Default Help! - D16Y8 starting issue

Hi guys,

First post as I've only recently got a 96' Del-Sol - UK Spec.

Car was fine the first few days, then died when I tried to start it...it'll only crank but not fire the engine.

So far I've made sure:
-engine is getting a good spark
-battery is fully charged
-fuel pump is running and getting power
-injectors are getting power but don't seem to be pushing any fuel into the engine.

It will fire briefly with ignition fluid added to the air-intake so the engine seems fine, which makes me believe it's either the ECU or wiring...

Can anyone tell me how to check the ECU wiring etc? or something I may have missed?

Has got check engine light on...although I dont have a reader to diagnose it at the moment. And I live on steep hill, if I push it out and it wont start I have no way of towing it back to my driveway...

In the FAQs it explains how to pull codes yourself with a paperclip.

I would start ohming injectors and make sure pcm has power and ground you have to get a schmetaic and backprobe the connectors at the pcm.

There is a buyable pdf download of the service manual it will have the schematic in it and look for the pcm on it and fuse box and find the pin # on the pcm back probe with volt meter on that pin KOEO(Key On Engine Off) you should have battery (12.5-12.6V) or a 5v refrence depending what other modules are "talking" to the pcm

And just because the fuel pump is getting powere doeset mean that it has enough pressure to operate the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) or to spray out of the injector and there could be corosion on the powere wire to the fuel pump so is the fuel pump getting 12v or 3.5v honestly you seriously need to invest in a volt meter i reccomend the fluke 87 true rms multi-meter they run about 400 USD$ 308 euro but trust me that is the best and cheapest multi-meter to get.

I can pull some wiring schematics from work tomorrow and possibly email them to you?

Jdm95 - thanks for the input, I have a voltage tester - although not a 400$ one it reads well. Already pulled the PCM out, so if anyone has any advice on what pins to check I'd be grateful!

Just checked the cel - only one code a code 41 - O2 sensor heater? But that shouldn't stop the engine firing should it?

Ok guys, heres what I'm currently looking at:

Am I right in thinking I'm looking for voltage/continuity in pins A23,24 & 26? (connector A being the furthest left in the picture?)

Does the car have to be cranking to get these readings, or just key in on (II)?
